The text book Taxonomy of Angiosperms has been thoroughly revised in this second edition. All the earlier chapters have been revised and brought up-to-date. The following chapters have been added: Molecular Taxonomy, Computer Applications in Taxonomy, Biodiversity in India and Botanical Explorations in India. Information regarding Taxonomic Literature has been added to the chapter on Plant identification. Biodiversity and its proper exploitation is gaining ground since last decade. Because of this there is a revival of interest of Plant Taxonomy. There are not enough books to cater to the needs of the students of Botany in India. A part from traditional aspects of plant taxonomy, modern methods, Biodiversity, forest types of India, Botanical survey of India, Ethnobotany and Economic Botany have also been included in this book.
