This book is an effort to put Asia on the map of western world. It is in part a record of impressions and reflections during ten years spent in the countries with which it deals. The Author believes that there is enough material to provide an introduction to the culture of three great civilizations of Asia India, China and Japan. These three civilizations have a proud place in the family of nations, and certain cultural utility underlines their deep differences.
