The sole objective of this work "Historical Value of the Qur'an and the Hadith" is to focus on historical importance of early Islamic scriptures - the Qur'an and the Hadith. The Qur'an and the Hadith, as a historical source, has its peculiar qualities. It was revealed directly to the Prophet who stood for the foundation and propagation of Islam and was during his life-time committed to writing as well. It was revealed to the Prophet during a long span of time, in Mecca as well as in Medina, and hence it contains references to almost all major developments in the early period of Islam.
