The main objectives of this work are (i) to provide in a volume of workable-size with the names of identifying the numerous species of plants of Mussooreie, (ii) to give an upto date nomenclature of the species dealt with (iii) to stimulate further research on plants of Mussoorie in particular and Himalayan plants in general and (iv) to induce the study of nature and the concept of conservation. The authors have given an intimate knowledge of the plants of the area with reference to their description, occurrence, distribution, ecological association, phenological notes, local names etc, international code of Botanical Nomenclature incorporating the plants have also been made will appear as volume three of work.
