Haryana as a separate state have came in to existence in 1966 as a consequence of bifurcation of Punjab. It has an area of about 44,222 sq km (270 39’-300 55’ N latitude and 740 28’-770 36’ E longitude). No official published state level flora of Haryana exists. The present work aims to bring out a comprehensive book on the plants and plant resources of the state of Haryana.
The flora includes over 1,000 species belonging to 586 genera and 132 families. Some illustrations and colour photographs of selected plants have been provided to facilitate easy identification. Short description of all the plants have been provided. It is hoped that this book will be useful among te researchers, botanists, ecologists, foresters and all others.
