DESCRIPTION
The object of the book is to present Dante's and Milton's attitude towards philosophy. An attempt has been made by the author to present the widest possible spectrum of philosophical and metaphysical thoughts presented by Dante and Milton in The Divine Comedy and Paradise Lost respectively. However, his chief endeavour in this work has not been to point out or classify Dante's and Milton's philosophical ideas only, but to show how successfully these two great poets harmonized and reconciled poetry and philosophy in their poems. A greatly successful fusion of poetry and philosophy marks a singular achievement of Dante and Milton.
