DESCRIPTION
Guru Nanak laid the foundation of a new religion in the fifteenth century. They called themselves Sikhs or disciples. They were essentially a religious body till Muhammedan persecution gradually transformed them into a militant sect. Guru Gobind finally transformed the Sikhs from a religious to a military body. Aim of this compilation work is to examine why, when and how Sikhs became a nation of soldiers. What was their military system? In the course of preparation of this work we have consulted and where necessary used a umber of primary and secondary sources.
