The North-Eastern region of India is one of the largest centers of Genetic diversity of plants of economic importance. About 50 per cent of the total number of species of our subcontinent occur in this region. Further the presence of large number of primitive flowering plants makes N.E. India the 'Cradle of Flowering Plants'. However, this region is still unexplored and information available about these plants are rudimentary and scanty. This compendium is a small effort to give a glimpse of the richness of the plant wealth of the region.
