This vade mecum (handbook to which constant reference is made) contains the orders of service for use in ceremonies in Buddhist temples: general ceremonies, Wesak Day ceremonies, ceremonies for the young and dedication, marriage and funeral ceremonies. For each ceremony, the wording used by the officiant is given followed by the response by the congregation. Sentences from the Dhammapada are given as responsive readings. The second half of the book consists of a hymnal with hymns to suit every occasion. An index of first lines completes the book.
