Kun-mkhyen Dol-po-pa (1292-1361) is one of the greatest names in the history of Tibetan Buddhist Thought. As a founder of the "extriustic emptiness" (gzhan-stongs) approach to Madhyamaka philosophy, he arroused the most intense and enduring debate among the monastic colleges, and as the creation of the Bkra-sis Sgo-mang style of Stupa Architecture influenced the entire development of Tibetan religious art.
