This short book of 159 pages recounts the journey of the author from Srinagar into Ladakh via the Zolila pass. Further more, after reaching Leh she goes up the Nubra Valley. It is a descriptive book with 21 excellent pen and ink illustrations. Througout the book is peppered with numerous anecdotes and are presented in a lighter vein. The last 2 chapters are devoted to the customs and manners of the inhabitants and to the geographical and natural features of the land.
