Volume one aims at explaining the "Higa" poitics' of the Partition. Seventeen renowned scholars look at the complex interplay of historical events during the last years of the British raj leading to the parting of Ways. They reveal behind-the-scenes were exrted to arrive at a final settement. The role of some of the staiwards who Occuupied the centre stage is traced. Volume two takes us away from the 'history' of official records to the domain of ragedy, where the drama of Partition was played with a pang in the heart. It is a People's history, based on experiences, recollections and reminiscences in the form of eyewitness accounts, testimonials and oral narratives.
