It is an unique book written in the style not attempted by any author so far, most suited to present day demand of scientific world, as it unveils the gems of subject related to prasuti-tantra (obstetrics) and striroga (gynecology), hidden amidst thousands of pages compiled within eleven most important and widely read books on ayurveda, alongwith their commentators of ancient and medieval period. Recapitulation of textual references under specific headings provide the reader an opportunity to ponder-over and rethink the topic without exhausting the energy in picking up the references scattered almost all over the classics.
Scientific explanations of ancient writings including controversial topics given under comments and specific diagrams help in appreciating practical approach and deep insight of great sages of the past. Use of Hindi and English both languages increase the acceptability of book by wider range of workers. Within the intervening period of more than twelve years besides few additional references, the ideas about presentation or explanation of certain topics also changed a little bit, thus this second edition and enlarged and redacted version is presented to the ayurvedika world.
