This book is concerned with the significance, development and cost-benefit analysis of sericulture farming in India. Many farmers in India, especially in irrigated belt use to take cash crops, such as sugar cane, which creates many environmental and marketing problems. Now it has become very clear that there is limited scope for the traditional crop farming where there is unlimited supply of labour force in rural area. Therefore, one of the most urgent challenges before the planners is to halt and look at the alternative farming such as dairy, poultry and sericulture.
