DESCRIPTION
Myths and folk-tales are deeply rooted in tradition. They are living monuments of thoughts, convictions, faiths and fancies of the people and of tribes some of which are non-existent at the present time. The present series in three parts presents a detailed study of mythical accounts from Mahabharata and proposes that they have deeper ethno-social implications. The author has traced these mythical accounts from the early vedic through later literature, which are subjected to comparison with tribal and sculptural evidence, both from India and outside.
